Founded in 1882, The Royal College of Music (RCM) is a world leading music conservatoire with a prestigious history and contemporary outlook. Our excellence was recognised by the 2025 QS World University Rankings, in which we were ranked as the global No. 1 institution for both Music and Performing Arts. The College has held this world-leading place in Performing Arts for the three successive years, while Music is a new subject introduced to the rankings this year.
To cope with growing demand and our increasingly global perspective, the Royal College of Music is seeking to engage a distinguished Harp professor to join its international team. We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
The Strings Faculty consists of a team of outstanding professors, many of whom combine careers as eminent performers and orchestral players with a passion and dedication for teaching. One-to-one lessons are at the very heart of every RCM student’s learning experience, and in addition to these our students enjoy scheduled performance and ensemble classes, regular chamber coaching, orchestral classes, and masterclasses with distinguished international musicians.
The College is committed to advancing equality and inclusive practice in all areas including staff and student recruitment, our teaching and artistic programme, research activity, and our working environment. We especially welcome female applicants and those from Black and ethnically diverse backgrounds who are currently underrepresented at this level within the College.
