About the role
Peninsula Medical School, is seeking a new Lead for Professionalism, taking forwards our well-developed Professionalism Theme. Plymouth has a strong reputation for promoting excellent Professionalism skills which prepare students for future practice, with a well-developed supportive team.
This role could suit someone already working with the School but we would welcome someone not previously involved who has interest and experience in medical education, keen to help students develop professional skills. Professionalism is embedded across our curriculum and encompasses skills in ethical thinking, patient-centredness, communication and teamworking, organization and reflective practice.
You will work with the Director of Professionalism, locality Leads for Professionalism at other sites, clinicians and academics in the Professionalism strand of the curriculum across Years 1-5 of the programme The post is based in Plymouth but occasional travel to sites in Torbay and Taunton may be required.

If you are a medical doctor with an interest in Professionalism and supporting learners, we would welcome you to our committed and supportive team. Training and support will be given.
Exact contractual arrangements will be negotiated with the successful candidate who will have an employment contract or an honorary contract with the University.
There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport.
The successful candidate may be required to obtain an ATAS Certificate prior to this research being undertaken.

This is a part-time position working 12 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for a period of 3 years due to business demand.
For this role, you will need to be on site 1 day a week. Although we can acommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.
Staff appointed within the Faculty of Health may be able to join the NHS pension scheme subject to eligibility criteria.
