UEA has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for research in the UK. Applications are invited for the post of Senior Research Technician to assist in the research under the supervision of Dr Penelope Pickers to support research in the UEA Atmospheric Oxygen Measurements research group.
The aim of this post is to facilitate the smooth running and organisation of the UEA Atmospheric Oxygen Measurements (AOM) Laboratory in the School of Environmental Sciences (ENV). Working under the supervision of the Principal Scientist, you will supervise more junior technical staff and PhD students in the laboratory, as well as develop, test, optimise, troubleshoot, and operate novel high-precision atmospheric oxygen measurement instrumentation, including a new NERC-funded community asset for mobile oxygen measurements (‘OXYMOBILE’), housed inside a bespoke fully electric van.
Key duties of the role are outlined in the job description. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to demonstrate they have a full, clean UK driving licence (Reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010)
This full-time post is available from 1 August 2025 on a fixed-term basis for 26 months with potential to extend, subject to future research funding being available.
