Global Institute of Sport is seeking a talented, ambitious Academic Services Manager who will play a pivotal role in the Registry team managing services for our university students studying online and at our stadium campuses in the UK, Belgium, USA and Australia.
Joining an award-winning team ranked #1 for graduate employment prospects by SportBusiness magazine, this role will oversee the management and integrity of student records throughout the student lifecycle, from enrolment and registration to progression, assessment, and graduation. The post holder will ensure compliance with validating partner regulations and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide a high-quality, student-centred administrative service. Providing expert advice, guidance and support to both colleagues and students.

LOCATION: Remote, with occasional travel to London (Wembley)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and line management to the Academic Services Team, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services that align with GIS’s commitment to excellence in student administration.
- Ensure a high quality and responsive service is provided to students and colleagues, setting and maintaining service level agreements for records requests, student admin requests, and the reporting of data internally and to partner organisations.
- Manage student records across all stages (enrolment, registration, progression, and award), ensuring accuracy and compliance with institutional and partner requirements.
- Develop and maintain clear student record processes, utilising a forward-thinking approach to anticipate and adapt to sector and institutional changes. Staying abreast of sector developments and ensure GIS policies and procedures reflect changes in higher education regulations or best practice.
- Work collaboratively across departments and with external university validating partners to ensure regulatory compliance and that student data is managed appropriately, including the development of new systems and processes to support the student journey and accurate recording of student records
- Lead the coordination of assessments, marking, and feedback processes, including liaison with awarding partners on Assessment and Award Boards, and ensure registration and certification comply with external and professional body regulations.
- Support the supervision of module management and registrations and carry out related reporting, including assisting Academic Registry teams to ensure that course documentation is produced
- Oversee the effective use and development of student record systems and the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), working with academic and digital education teams.
- Provide informed advice and support to students and staff, while ensuring compliance in alignment with key stakeholders and in line with partner academic regulations
- Lead on the development of student engagement and achievement monitoring activities and initiatives to support continuation and completion KPIs
- Oversee the documentation, analysis, and communication of student data (e.g. progression, attendance, attainment), ensuring clear processes for administration and informed decision-making.
- Actively promote and embed the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion within academic services, ensuring that processes and support mechanisms are fair, accessible, and inclusive for all students and staff.
