What you would be doing
The Faculty of Medicine is a world-leading centre of excellence in biomedical research, delivering innovative, cutting-edge basic & translational research benefitting patients worldwide. This large multi-disciplinary environment is home to more than 1400 academic and research staff and has research funding in excess of £170M per year. We are looking to recruit an outstanding Research Manager to support two Departments in the Faculty: the Department of Immunology and Inflammation and Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction. Your skills and expertise will be invaluable in the provision of research support to staff at all levels, with a particular focus on funding applications. Your expertise will contribute to the development of the highest quality funding proposals to maximise the chances of success.
What we are looking for
This opportunity would ideally suit someone with a strong biomedical background who has experience in research administration within a higher education institute, at a research funding organisation or other relevant experience. It is ideal as a secondment opportunity for someone who wishes to expand their experience in research support or is considering a career in research management. This role requires excellent writing skills, meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills. It requires the ability to work within a fast-paced intensive research environment with many competing deadlines.

The post is at Level 4 on the Professional, Technical and Operational Scale at Imperial. It is maternity leave cover and would be ideal as an internal secondment opportunity. For secondments, please discuss this with your current line manager ahead of applying.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) based at Hammersmith Campus and other campuses as required – Hybrid: minimum 60% FTE on campus
This role is for a fixed-term contract for 8 months.
