This post is full time, and has funding for up to 18 months.
The James Watt School of Engineering is looking for a Research Technologist in Sustainable Electronics to make a leading contribution to the inter-university UKRI Responsible Electronics And Circular Technologies (REACT) Research Centre (REACT | Advancing sustainable electronics | University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK). REACT offers manufacturing, engineering, regulatory and business development expertise to develop the central belt of Scotland as a centre of excellence in sustainable electronics across the UK, working extensively across the UK electronics industry.
The role will include gaining understanding of the needs of companies, research organisations, and translational research groups in sustainable electronics (e.g., ICs, life cycle assessment, PCBs/systems); conducting short translational and knowledge exchange activities; working closely, collaborating with, and/or undertaking secondments in other research/industry labs across the UK (e.g. with the CSA Catapult); overseeing advanced electronic design activities based on the research team’s outputs; and working seamlessly in a team with researchers and academics at Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Heriot-Watt universities, reporting directly to the Centre’s Directors (PI / Deputy PI).
