Working within the Business Partnering Team, you will take responsibility for all HR administration and recruitment activities for your own allocated areas of the University, whilst also supporting colleagues as necessary.
You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely provision of HR services to your allotted areas. This includes administrative support relating to the effective end-to-end recruitment process as well as processing HR documentation such as contract variations, parental leave requests, and assisting with note taking at HR meetings.
You will provide best practice advice and solutions to managers, colleagues and applicants and ensure a super supportive, efficient and positive customer experience.
We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.
About you
You will have previous administrative experience, including excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance conflicting priorities. Good IT skills, including competence in, and experience of using, standard Microsoft software packages (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience of working in an HR department, knowledge of UKVI legislation and experience of using databases would be advantageous but not essential as full training is available.
In return you will benefit from a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and an additional 5 University closed days (pro rata), local government pension scheme, learning and development opportunities and local discounts.
