About the role:
Applications are encouraged for a Research Associate position in Geotechnics at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The post will include some teaching duties in Geotechnics.
What you would be doing:
You will be supporting research efforts within the Geotechnics section. This will include generating new research output, research dissemination (papers, internal and external research presentations), development of research proposals (both supporting academic staff writing proposals and leading fellowship proposals of your own), and acting as an assistant supervisor to PhD students. You will also support the teaching mission of the section by delivering lectures, tutorials, laboratory demonstrations, participating in field trips, MEng and MSc dissertation project supervision, creating and marking assessments (both coursework and examinations).
What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, some prior experience of teaching/supporting teaching, post-graduate qualifications in geotechnical engineering, industrial experience and experience of research and research dissemination.
