About the role

As the Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the coordination, recruitment, event organization, and ongoing development of the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Sustainable Chemical Technologies: A Systems Approach (CSCT). Working closely with the management team, you will provide administrative and financial support for the Centre's activities and students.

This role is full-time, office-based (with potential for occasional flexibility) and is funded until September 2032.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Admissions: Manage the recruitment process, including advertising studentships, handling inquiries, processing applications, and coordinating interviews and open days.
  • MRes and PhD Support: Act as first point of contact for CDT students, coordinate training courses, and ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Financial Administration: Monitor budgets, manage accounts, process expenses, and liaise with finance offices and industrial partners.
  • Project Coordination and Meetings: Organize board meetings, issue agendas and minutes, resolve issues, and contribute to reviews.
  • Events and Marketing: Coordinate events, manage budgets, update marketing material, and liaise with stakeholders.

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Highly organized with experience in project administration
  • A confident communicator with both internal and external stakeholders, including students
  • Comfortable with budgets, purchasing, and other financial processes
  • Positive and conscientious in their approach to work, with a well-developed sense of responsibility
  • A team-player who is also able to work autonomously

About us:

The Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Sustainable Chemical Technologies: A Systems Approach (CSCT) is an EPSRC-funded centre at the University of Bath that will train around 70 PhD students in five cohorts, hosted within the Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change (ISCC). The CDT will operate in close partnership with our Swindon-based Innovation Centre for Applied Sustainable Technologies (iCAST), a £17M partnership for innovation and translation of research that has established a cluster of over 100 sustainable technology companies and will provide a dynamic innovation-focused context for PhD training in the region.

The Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change integrates physical, social and systems sciences at Bath and develops leaders in tackling critical sustainability issues. The Institute aims to deliver novel chemical technologies and robust behavioural solutions, brought together through whole system evaluation to reframe problems and create transformative innovation in sustainability and climate change.
