Join our innovative team to inspire the Occupational Therapists of the future. We have many exciting developments underway, including a degree apprenticeship route, and we need Occupational Therapists with a passion for student education and the profession to join us in delivering them. We are seeking to employ a part-time (0.6 FTE) University Practitioner in Occupational Therapy to help us achieve our ambitious plans.
The Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise has an excellent portfolio of education and research. You will teach within a department delivering Occupational Therapy and other health related programmes and you will be expected to support with exciting placement expansion opportunities.
We are looking to appoint an Occupational Therapist with a broad range of practice experience able to teach in many areas across the curriculum. You will be committed to partnership working and an enthusiasm for practice research is particularly welcome. Ideally, you will have experience of working with students and will be able to inspire them to excel through positive role modelling and innovative teaching. This appointment will involve practical and theoretical teaching across the undergraduate and apprenticeship occupational therapy degree programmes. You will be expected to support further developments within the department, both in a profession specific and multi-disciplinary context.
You will be registered with the HCPC as an Occupational Therapist and hold a Masters Degree (or equivalent), however, applicants who are professionally qualified and have evidence of Master’s level study will also be considered.
This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Regular status checks may also be required, depending on your role.
This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months, however, as the post is linked to a maternity absence, the end date is subject to change.
As a Practitioner we expect you to be actively engaged in practice in addition to your role at the University. This can be either through paid employment with another employer, paid consultancy or freelance work.
