About the role
King’s is at an exciting point as we look to significantly scale up our philanthropic ambitions. We are looking for an excellent experienced Senior Advancement Communications Writer who is genuinely excited to tell engaging and powerful stories.
From writing fundraising proposals and cases for support, impact reports, gift announcements and speeches, to developing key messages and concept notes for alumni audiences and high-net-worth individuals, including Major and Principal Gifts, the post holder will use their excellent writing and communication skills to lead on creating a wide range of supporting collateral for student support, research, clinical and capital projects for a range of audiences across a range of channels. They will be comfortable writing across a range of subjects including mental and physical health, climate and sustainability, peace, justice and security, and the digital world.
The Senior Advancement Communications Writer will work closely with fundraisers to understand the requirements for the delivery of written materials and will meet with clinical and academic colleagues to gather content for proposals. They will have the ability to think quickly and strategically in meetings with key stakeholders and will have the confidence to ask the questions that will ensure the creation of powerful and donor-facing narratives, being confident enough to push back and challenge where necessary. They will turn around proposals efficiently with excellent attention to detail and will be expected to work on a number of different content simultaneously, whilst thinking innovatively and creatively about the way in which content is displayed and delivered. They will work closely with colleagues in the Donor Relations team to deliver high quality impact reports for our donors and support content delivery for the Advancement Communications team, helping us to tell the story of King’s to our various audiences.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract, however we are happy to discuss part time or flexible working. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.
