About this role
This role leads a Learning Development team comprising around 9 staff and is based within the Library and Learning Services’ Learning Innovation and Skills Team (LIST), alongside the Career Development and Digital Learning teams. This role is based at the Glenside Campus in support of the College of Health, Science and Society (CHSS). This college comprises four schools, two of which are based at the Frenchay Campus which means that the team is split but team members work collaboratively across the two campuses which are around 2 miles apart.
About you
As the Learning Development Manager (LDM) for the College of Health Science and Society (CHSS) you will work collaboratively with senior staff and academics within the college and will understand the learning and research requirements of students and staff in the various disciplines represented within it, as well as the professional contexts within which the staff and students might work.
You will attend relevant college and school meetings as partners in the development of the curriculum, preparing for and presenting at validations / accreditations and ensuring relevant resources are available for the discipline areas being taught and researched.
You will be part of a wider network of health librarians and professionals supporting students on placement, both in health and education settings.
Your expertise in leading a multi professional team of librarians and learning developers will aim to ensure that students have every chance of meeting or exceeding the academic requirements of their programmes and to enable them to graduate from UWE, Bristol as skilled, confident, compassionate citizens prepared for their chosen futures.
You will contribute to university staff development activities that aim to increase understanding and use of inclusive practice such as embedding academic literacy within the curriculum and harnessing new technologies.
