The Residences team operate over 6,500 beds across 7 sites and employ c.150 staff at the University. The Residences team is working towards transforming the quality of our accommodation offer and delivering an exceptional, modern living experience for students. We are embarking on several new building development projects as part of the Residences Strategy, which is an exciting opportunity to influence and provide authoritative insight to the accommodation design that will meet the needs of future students.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced student residences/commercial, inspirational, and collaborative leader to help us grow and achieve our ambition of achieving a reputation for excellence in the sector. An ideal role for a candidate seeking exposure to a multi-faceted senior management role and to broaden their experience in a commercial and student experience setting.
With the ability to think strategically and plan effectively you will need sound analysis, financial, staff management and report writing skills to successfully contribute to the service excellence we are working towards.
An enterprising self-starter, with strong project management skills, you will support the Director of Residences, Sport, and Community Services in delivering the Residential Services Strategy as well as identifying and leading on new customer service and experience improvement projects. Sector collaboration is a key element of this role, and the successful candidate will be expected to implement initiatives that are sector leading.
About the role:
The role oversees Residences Operations (soft facilities), Customer Services, and Life Cycle, which includes delivering a calendar of high-profile events for recruitment and welcome through to overseeing out of hours and communications teams for Residences. You will lead the Business Support and Continuous Improvement team who deliver department projects and business support functions, and you will work closely with the Residences Maintenance and Occupancy team as well as with colleagues in Community Services, Estates and Student Experience.
