Location:  Bishops Square, Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a senior member of the HR team, you will be contributing extensively to the ongoing development and delivery of the People Strand of the University’s Strategic Plan 2025-2030.  This will include supporting a learning culture with a strong focus on achieving the full potential of people through a wide range of development initiatives as well as working alongside the L&OD Business Partners to lead and manage the creation and delivery of mandatory and bespoke training programmes and development initiatives which are designed with leadership, management, continuous professional development and best practice in mind.

You will lead and manage an integrated team of professionals taking a strategic approach to University wide interventions and solutions, a focus of this work will be increasing employee engagement. You will also work to continuously reflect, coordinate and promote process improvement and development at all levels within the University, encouraging collaborative working, as well as acting as the Senior L&OD Business Partner.

You will analyse and routinely report to key stakeholders on KPIs and management information all aspects of L&OD and Organisation Design and provide expert advice, guidance and support on structural/process changes and the potential impact on the organisation.

Skills and experience required

You will be able to demonstrate substantial proven expertise of delivering effective leadership, management and organisational development strategy in a large organisation and experience of working with managers to facilitate change/understand change management techniques. Experience of staff management and the proven ability to build successful working relationships across the organisation and with external organisations is also essential.

Qualifications Required

You will hold a degree or equivalent qualification or substantial proven experience, as well as an accredited or equivalent L&OD professional qualification and Accredited or equivalent experience in areas such as process improvement / organisational design and development / leadership and management and personal development including coaching.
