Are you a highly motivated researcher with a passion for mathematical modelling, coding, and ultrasound instrumentation, thriving in collaborative environments and eager to see your technical skills translated into tangible industrial solutions?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team as a KTP Research Associate, where you will be central to a collaborative project between The University of Sheffield, a leading research institution, and Johnson Matthey PLC, a global leader in sustainable technologies.

You will take the lead in developing mathematical frameworks that describe the propagation of ultrasound waves through particulate materials. Applying these models, you will design and contribute to the implementation of sensors for measuring critical particle properties, such as their size distribution. A vital part of this role involves balancing experimental needs, for example bandwidth requirements, with mathematical restrictions and the practicalities of plant environments. Furthermore, your responsibilities will include data manipulation, signal analysis, and software engineering to integrate cutting-edge theoretical tools, ultimately driving the creation of innovative sensing solutions for plant applications.

The primary place of work will be at Johnson Matthey, Belasis Avenue, Billingham,TS23 1LB, and while employed by The University of Sheffield, you will spend a significant portion of your time working on-site at Johnson Matthey PLC. You will also spend time working at the University of Sheffield.
