About the role

The MA Education is a thriving programme which regularly recruits large cohorts of international and home students. We aim to support students to articulate, explain and justify their own position within the complex and diverse field of education.

We are looking to recruit a Lecturer (Teaching) in MA Education. The successful candidate will be the Quantitative Methods Lead for the MA Education Dissertation module, as well as a personal tutor and dissertation supervisor to a group of MA students. You will be involved in ensuring that the teaching and learning of quantitative methods on the ‘Dissertation’ module is appropriate for achievement of the module learning outcomes. You will be designing, managing and updating quantitative methods resources on Moodle and will ensure that student evaluation of the quantitative methods components is managed effectively and used to enhance provision for current and/or future cohorts. In addition, you will be involved in taking on a number of tutees and may be involved in contributing to teaching across a range of other modules.

This post is on a part-time basis (.5 FTE/ 18.25 hours per week).

About you

The successful candidate will have a Masters degree or relevant experience in an area relevant to Education. You will have experience of teaching quantitative methods to undergraduate or postgraduate students and have experience leading quantitative methods modules or courses for undergraduate or postgraduate students. In addition, you will have experience of working effectively with postgraduates studying on an MA Education, particularly in a tutoring role and have good knowledge of a wide range of learning and teaching approaches suited to the learning needs of postgraduate students.
