Merton College proposes to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Law for the period 1 October 2025 until 30 September 2026.
The main duties of the post will be: to teach undergraduates studying Law for between an average of 5 hours to 11 weighted hours per week in full term, to share in the organisational responsibility and administration for degrees involving Law, to provide study skills and pastoral support, and to take part in the undergraduate admissions exercise.
The successful candidate will have completed a relevant postgraduate qualification in Law (such as the BCL or an LLM) or be engaged on a research degree in a topic relevant to the teaching range required of this postholder. The ability to provide excellent small-group teaching in tutorials and classes to high achieving undergraduates is essential.
