The Institute of Dentistry invites applications from suitably qualified dental surgeons for the post of Senior Clinical Lecturer or Clinical Lecturer in Prosthodontics. 

You will possess demonstrable experience in dental education and be able to provide strong leadership and guidance relating to fixed and removable prosthodontics for the Institute team, supporting the development of our more junior staff in clinical supervision and teaching.

Applicants should be eligible for registration with the General Dental Council and have significant experience in Prosthodontics.

The posts are based within the Institute of Dentistry and Aberdeen Dental Hospital, a modern purpose-built dental school and teaching hospital providing both undergraduate and postgraduate training in the region. The hospital has modern clinical accommodation with state of the art surgeries with a full complement of support staff and in-house Laboratory. There is also a dedicated, fully staffed on-site Dental Imaging department and Radiology support with CBCT imaging available.

The Institute of Dentistry, part of the University’s School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, delivers a graduate-entry Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree programme completed over four years and is the sole provider in Scotland of education and training in dental technology offering a blended learning programme leading to a Diploma in Higher Education (DipHE).

The role offers excellent opportunities for research in laboratory sciences, health services or education with excellent facilities and a supportive culture provided by the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition and within the wider university setting. The post holder will be part of a team with an international reputation in dental education, scholarship and research.

This is a full-time post; however, we will consider applications from candidates who wish to work no less than 60% of full-time (minimum 3 days per week).

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the salary scale for clinical academics, with placement according to clinical experience:

Senior Clinical Lecturer (below level of Consultant): £76,082 - £107,625 per annum, pro rata.

Clinical Lecturer (below level of consultant): £48,288 - £91,753 per annum, pro rata.

This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.

Prior to employment, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK.  This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route under the UKVI immigration rules but is dependent on factors specific to the candidate and if tradeable points can be used under the rules.
