POSITION DESCRIPTION

Full-Time Faculty Position (Open Rank) in Computer Science – Spring 2026  

KIMEP University, the leading American-style university in Central Asia, invites applications for full-time faculty position at Department of Computer Science, School of Computer Science and Mathematics (SCSM), offers two undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Information Systems. We welcome passionate educators and researchers to join our growing international team to help shape the future of computing education in the region. Responsibilities involve teaching, research, and engaging in extra-curricular and recruitment activities. The position is for an initial three-year contract, renewable upon mutual agreement. The teaching load is negotiable, depending on research output and administrative duties assigned. Supervision of undergraduate research projects is encouraged, and options to teach other courses of interest are available.

Qualifications

Applicants must have earned a PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline from an international accredited university. Applicants should ideally have at least 3-5 years of teaching experience in higher education and a proven record of consistent, high-quality scholarly activity.

Compensation

Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation after-tax compares favorably with net salaries in Western countries. Limited on-campus housing is available to rent. In addition to salary, a benefits package includes healthcare, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, and a relocation allowance. New faculty members have a reduced teaching schedule during the first semester. Summer paid teaching is typically available. The salary will be subject to a net 10% income tax deduction.
