Working within the UK Student Recruitment & Outreach team you will be responsible for the delivery of strategic recruitment, outreach and conversion (post application) activity within schools in Berkshire working with prospective students and applicants from under-represented groups. Secondly – you will lead on project-based activity to support transition aimed at Year 13 students who have applied to the University ( Access Reading). This project includes: developing and managing our online transition and study skills resources and delivery an in person event for students with contextual offers. Thirdly, working with the Henley Business School to support their widening participation and UG recruitment targets through organising subject based activity. The role involves working independently, strategically and proactively; managing projects and resource; and organising designing and delivering activities and events. You will also be personally representing the University to potential students, their parents and teachers; and building and maintaining strong networks of internal and external stakeholders.
You will have:
• Experience of working within a post 16 setting in a UK Student recruitment or outreach role or similar
• Experience delivering presentations to a range of post 16 audiences in person and online
• Understanding of the widening participation agenda in an HE setting
• Demonstrable knowledge of the UK Higher Education system and UK Recruitment Cycle
• Experience of event organisation
• Experience working with external and internal stakeholders and developing relationships.
The role will be based in Reading but may involve some travel further afield to UCAS or 3rd party fairs.
Safeguarding Requirements and Responsibilities
• To undertake safeguarding training and follow the University’s Safeguarding Children & Adults at Risk Policy at all times.
• To consider Safeguarding in Risk Assessment processes for events and activities you deliver.
• To report any disclosures or concerns using the Safeguarding Incident Form and submit this to the UK Student Recruitment and Outreach team Designated Safeguarding Officer.
An Enhanced DBS with a child barred list check is required for this position. This role is a regulated activity. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
