Are you a visionary communications leader passionate about student engagement and fostering an exceptional student experience? The University of Sheffield is seeking a Head of Student Communications to lead our Student Communications team and shape how we connect with our diverse student body.
Effective student engagement and communications are at the heart of our mission, contributing significantly to student satisfaction, retention, and positive outcomes. As Head of Student Comms, you will develop and deliver a clear vision for student engagement and communications, aligning with the University's strategic goals and meeting the needs of an evolving student audience. You will lead, develop, and manage the Student Communications team, providing strategic insight and fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture, and will therefore have experience managing individuals or teams, supporting staff development, ensuring performance, and encouraging collaboration.
You will be an experienced communications professional with a good honours degree (or equivalent experience) in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing. You will have significant knowledge and understanding of student engagement and communications and the needs of a diverse and evolving student audience.
You will join the Department of Marketing, Admissions, Recruitment and Communications (MARC), part of the University’s Professional Services. Our teams are collectively responsible for external and internal engagement, reputation and branding, marketing, market insight and research, corporate communications, admissions, events (including graduation), student recruitment and access strategies for the University. Faculty Hubs which cover many of these also sit within the department.
