At the Department of Physiology Anatomy & Genetics (DPAG) we undertake discovery science where we reassemble physiological processes at the molecular, cellular, tissue and systems level of organisation. In so doing we provide a bridge to translational medicine, and interface between physical and life sciences. Overview of the role

We are recruiting two Laboratory Technicians to support Professor Dame Molly Stevens’s lab at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. You’ll assist with lab organisation (cell culture or chemistry), stock management, reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, and contribute to inductions, risk assessments, and health and safety procedures. Roles also involve experimental support such as cell culture and chemical synthesis, with training provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain lab operations and continuity for staff and students
  • Manage stock, ordering, and liaise with admin on budgets
  • Support core functions: equipment upkeep, H&S documents, lab organisation
  • Prepare, store, and track reagents and samples
  • Assist experimental work with basic technical tasks

Selection Criteria

  • A-level or equivalent in a science discipline
  • Lab experience in biomaterials, cell biology, or chemistry
  • Knowledge of H&S regulations and inventory systems
  • IT proficiency: Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, ELNs
  • Organised, proactive, collaborative, and communicative
