About the role
Founded in 2019, Reuben College is one of the University of Oxford’s newest graduate colleges. Located in a beautifully refurbished building adjacent to the Museum of Natural History. We are seeking to appoint a technically skilled and service-oriented individual to serve as our IT & Audio Visual (AV) Technician, joining a small, dedicated team supporting a dynamic graduate community. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a vibrant, contemporary college within the historic context of the University of Oxford.
The successful candidate will play a dual role between IT support and live event delivery. You will provide first-line IT support to staff, students, and College members, resolving a broad range of day-to-day technical queries. You will also take responsibility for delivering AV and technical support during College events—ranging from academic seminars and formal dinners to graduation ceremonies and student-focused festivals.
The role is part-time and fixed term for 12 months. The hours are 22.5 hours per week, with 15 hours allocated to in-office IT support across two fixed weekdays, and the remaining 7.5 hours offered flexibly across evenings and weekends in line with the College’s events calendar. This flexibility, agreed in advance with line managers, will ensure appropriate support is available for regular events such as Dining with Dinosaurs and annual College graduation ceremonies.
