The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) traces its heritage back to the first university in Wales, receiving its Royal Charter in 1828. UWTSD now teaches over 16,000 students across its six campuses in the UK; four in Wales and two in England.

THE ROLE

You will play a pivotal role in the Learning and Teaching team, focusing on the development of learning, teaching, and assessment across UWTSD. The role involves contributing to various projects aimed at enhancing the university's academic provision, including the Curriculum Review, Collaborative Practice Framework, Personal Tutor Framework, and Advance HE accredited schemes. 

Main Duties:

  • Contribute to learning, teaching, and assessment projects.
  • Identify areas for enhancement and support the delivery of developments.
  • Champion academic innovation and good practice in learning and teaching.
  • Engage in staff development and ensure high levels of staff engagement in development projects.
  • Promote high levels of digital literacy in assessment and use of resources.
  • Support the university's Advance HE accredited provision.
  • Attend internal and external networks to share information and identify collaboration opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

You will need to hold a Masters’ Degree or equivalent Professional qualification/professional experience in relevant subject area together with a Teaching qualification and/or higher education academy accreditation at fellow or senior fellow level.

You should also have:

  • A successful track record of supporting developments in learning and teaching practice/process across a range of disciplines and levels and evaluating impact
  • Ability to develop projects to enhance student experience and outcomes.
  • Experience of enhancing student satisfaction in relation to curriculum, assessment, and/or improving outcomes of students from under-represented groups.
  • Ability to develop and enhance staff development initiatives and curriculum.
  • Knowledge of reviewing and developing curriculum to meet external benchmarks.
  • Strong planning abilities and experience in project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamworking skills to contribute to an academic team for the successful delivery of projects through collaboration/

  • Annual leave entitlement is 35 days annual leave per year, (plus 8 bank holidays & 4 University closure days)
