THE ROLE 

The Senior Academic Development Officer will play a pivotal role in the Learning and Teaching team, focusing on the development of learning, teaching, and assessment across UWTSD. The role involves leading various projects aimed at enhancing the university's academic provision, including the Collaborative Practice Framework, Personal Tutor Framework, and Advance HE accredited schemes. 

Main Duties:

• Lead on learning, teaching, and assessment projects.
• Identify areas for enhancement and lead the delivery of developments and evaluate the impact of these developments on university policy, procedures, and practices.
• Champion academic innovation and good practice in learning and teaching.
• Lead staff development and ensure high levels of staff engagement in development projects.
• Promote high levels of digital literacy in assessment and use of resources.
• Manage the university's Advance HE accredited provision with colleagues in the team.
• Build internal and external networks to share information and identify collaboration opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS 

You will need to hold a Doctoral qualification or equivalent together with a Teaching qualification and/or higher education academy accreditation at senior or principal fellow level.

You should also have:

• Significant experience in leading developments in learning and teaching within higher education.
• Demonstrable ability to develop and enhance staff development initiatives and curriculum.
• Experience in enhancing student satisfaction and outcomes.
• Knowledge of reviewing and developing curriculum to meet external benchmarks.
• Strong planning abilities and experience in project management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
