- THE ROLE –

The post holder will support Yr Athrofa’s programmes of Teacher Education, teaching both English and Welsh-medium student-teachers. This includes support of various pathways (i.e. secondary) and modules across the suite of Teacher Education offered within the APLP.

The post holder will draw upon a rich understanding and experience of the primary curriculum as a teacher educator.

The post holder will be working within a wider team of motivated lecturing staff and will be forward-thinking in their support of the curriculum for Wales.

Will be experienced in the field of primary Welsh and English medium education, the post holder will direct and co-ordinate input as appropriate. 

Will have experience of working within a wider educational context, the successful applicant will have proven ability to teach to a high standard and develop teaching across the suite of programmes offered by the Athrofa.

Will have a sound understanding of the school-based learning environment, relationships with school-based colleagues and be adept at teaching in a range of learning spaces, including, those in school and university.

Where appropriate the post holder will engage in various project based/ funded activity relating specifically to the primary phase.

The role will support the implementation of the Welsh Government’s wider education strategy and National Mission.

The ability to communicate and work through the medium of Welsh is essential for this post.
