IT Services is a key department that ensures that the University has the robust, reliable and high-performing IT and digital services it requires to support the distinctive needs of those engaged in teaching, learning, research and administration.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager (GLAM) to join us on a permanent basis to support the University’s digital transformation journey, particularly as that relates to the University’s world-leading Gardens, Libraries, and Museums.

About the Role

  • Oxford’s GLAM units also play a central role in the University’s community and public engagement activities enabling local and global visitors to engage with the University and its remarkable collections and learning.
  • The Programme Manager (GLAM) is responsible for understanding GLAM’s digital needs and for implementing, and overseeing the continuous improvement of, the digital services relating to the management, discovery, and engagement with GLAM’s physical and digital collections.
  • As the University’s digital transformation advances, the Programme Manager (GLAM) will also support the design and implementation of the new digital operating model within GLAM to facilitate the ongoing continuous improvement of GLAM’s digital services in line with user requirements and University strategy.

About You

  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple concurrent projects and initiatives, with combined budgets around £1m/year, ideally within a wider programme context.
  • A track record of building strong relationships, engaging confidently with diverse stakeholders, and contributing effectively to project board decision-making.

  • Ability to provide direction to Project Managers, offering guidance on approach and resolving escalated issues where necessary.
  • Sound understanding of GLAM’s aims and operational context, with the capability to interpret high-level business needs and translate them into a structured, deliverable programme of work.
