The Head of Business Insights and Benefits role sits within the Transformation Office Directorate. The Transformation Office supports the senior leadership of the university in effective strategy execution, delivering a complex set of transformation initiatives and driving sustainable improvements to our core business.

About the role:

Head of Business Insights and Benefits

Location: Hybrid – 3 days on campus (typically Mon, Tue + 1)

Contract: Full-time (35 hrs/week), Indefinite

This role leads the design and implementation of performance monitoring, benefits management, and business insights frameworks that underpin major strategic programmes, ensuring long-term impact for staff and students.

  • Lead the design and implementation of the monitoring, planning and performance analysis function across the Transformation Office
  • Lead a team of analysts to gather and document requirements for change through to supporting activities towards service transition and transformation
  • Oversee the design and implementation of the benefits management framework across the Transformation Office portfolio, including providing support to projects in applying the framework and supporting ongoing business and data information analysis
  • Lead a team of Business and Benefits Analysts and support the development of data analysis and identification and management of benefits skills and capabilities within the Transformation Office, ensuring a joined-up approach to business insights and benefits realisation
  • Understand the current AS-IS process, identify the gaps/challenges, agree with the process and business owners the TO-BE process
  • Prioritise and manage Business Process Improvement portfolio of projects, appropriately tracking success measures to effectively execute improvements, drive performance objectives and demonstrate value.
  • Coordinate/Collaborate with different functional teams across the University to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Undertake benefit realisation activities for the transformation programmes and projects, tracking and monitoring and reporting on post implementation benefits. Providing advice and guidance to partners on the delivery of benefits and utilising framework documentation.
  • Work across the Transformation Office portfolio to produce and update the necessary benefit reporting and programme documentation for internal and external stakeholders, evidencing demonstratable benefits and value for money, through leading on realisation activities.
  • Lead discussions and liaising with academic and professional services colleagues to identify potential benefits and develop the benefits realisation plan to maximise value and build upon the ideas of patients and key stakeholders. This includes design and delivery of interactive sessions/workshops as required.
  • Manage and analyse all types of Programme benefits, supporting internal and external stakeholders where required, and track tangible benefits to evidence the return on investment. Ensure the appropriate risks are escalated to the Programme leads with proactive resolutions
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyse model performance and data accuracy
