Background
The City Law School are seeking Visiting Lecturers to support the delivery of the Bar Vocational Studies (BVS) course through teaching, skills training and assessment. The role also involves providing academic and pastoral support to students. This is an opportunity to contribute a professionally focused and supporting learning environment within a team committed to high standards and success.
Responsibilities
Visiting Lecturers will contribute to the delivery of the BVS programme through teaching, marking assessments and facilitating skills-based workshops. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering teaching materials, providing constructive feedback and supporting student's academic progress. Visiting Lecturers are also expected to offer pastoral guidance and contribute to maintaining a supporting learning environment.
Person Specification
Applicants should be qualified barristers with relevant professional experience and a strong understanding of the Bar training pathway. Relevant experience in legal training in England and Wales and/or relevant experience in teaching is essential. A commitment to student development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver engaging practice-focused teaching is essential. Candidates should also be able to provide both academic and pastoral support.
