About the role
We are delighted to announce recruitment for a part-time, permanent, Undergraduate Assistant which is one of three new roles within our Academic Administration team within the University of Oxford, Faculty of History, George Street, Oxford OX1 2RL and from the date the Humanities department moves to its new premises, The Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Oxford https://www.schwarzmancentre.ox.ac.uk. The role
The Undergraduate Assistant will report to the Undergraduate Officer and supports the administrative processes for all on-course undergraduate students. The successful applicant will co-ordinate the administrative arrangements for all submissions and exams on Inspera; and will populate examination folders on Sharepoint with candidate data ensuring information is readily available to markers. They will also respond to general enquiries received to the undergraduate mailbox escalating complex queries when necessary, and create and manage course surveys for Special, Further and Optional subjects and annual all-student surveys.
About you
Strong literacy (English language) and numeracy, and a good level of secondary education, as well as a flexible approach to work, with a friendly ‘can do’ attitude and a dedication to providing excellent customer service to all. You will also have a proven ability to remain calm and effective in a busy working environment, the ability to work under pressure, meeting strict deadlines and maintaining excellent attention to detail; and also have experience of handling confidential information and managing difficult situations with tact and discretion. Experience of editing online media (website, intranet, virtual learning environment) is desirable.
