About the Role
We are recruiting for a Student Support Manager – Finance & Bursaries. The post holder is responsible for the co-ordination and management of all students’ financial support for undergraduate students within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD), including the administration of the undergraduate FMD student funding schemes, Government Student Loans, Local Education Authorities and NHS Bursaries. The role involves significant contact with students, academic and professional staff and will develop expertise in the University’s student support services and act as the faculty’s expert in utilizing these mechanisms.
About You
You should have a degree or equivalent qualification. Experience of accounts administration and experience of working in a higher education environment are essential, together with excellent interpersonal skills. The work will involve a high level of contact with students, often in vulnerable situations, therefore an ability to provide advice and guidance in a tactful and sensitive manner is paramount. You will be experienced working towards GDPR regulations, promoting and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of your work. You will have experience developing policies and procedures. A knowledge and understanding of work practices, processes, and issues relevant to student support, including an awareness of relevant current advice and guidance is essential.
