Student Caseworker - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role

The Student Caseworker is a pivotal role supporting the implementation of key student casework processes, including complaints, academic appeals, disciplinary cases, and procedural appeals. You'll be the first point of contact for enquiries, helping students and staff navigate university regulations with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.

Working closely with the Casework and Quality Compliance Manager, you'll ensure all cases are handled in line with university policies and external guidance, delivering a high-quality and student-focused service across BIMM University and our partner institution, MetFilm School.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the initial point of contact for student casework enquiries.
  • Manage the submission and processing of student complaints, appeals, and disciplinary cases.
  • Apply and implement casework policies and escalate matters as appropriate.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on casework procedures.
  • Support the review and enhancement of casework processes to improve student experience.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and contribute to casework reporting.
  • Service university committees and contribute to committee documentation.
  • Represent the QARC team and deputise for the Casework and Quality Compliance Manager when required.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience working in student casework within a higher education environment.
  • Strong written communication and case-handling skills.
  • Working knowledge of the OIA Good Practice Framework.
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills, including committee servicing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, professional approach.
  • A flexible, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to timely problem-solving.
