The College

London College of Music is placed within the University of West London as a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of exceptional creative, business and service professionals.

The College is the largest specialist music and performing arts institution in the UK (United Kingdom) and is looking for an appointment to develop further teaching and research relating to music education practices.

The Role

The post holder will deliver technical support for University of West London events both on and off campus. Responsibilities include setting up and operating lighting and AV equipment (including working at height and manual handling), set construction, and prop-making. The role involves providing technical guidance during rehearsals and production meetings, demonstrating equipment and processes to staff, students, and guests, and acting as production manager during performances. Flexibility is essential to ensure the smooth delivery of all events.

The Person

The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with experience in technical theatre, capable of working under pressure to tight production schedules. They will demonstrate skills in lighting (including rigging, focusing, and desk programming), stage and production management, AV design and operation, and technical get-ins and get-outs. A strong understanding of health and safety, equipment maintenance, and the ability to deliver technical demonstrations is essential. Professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting students, staff, and guests are key.
