About us

The Department of Anthropology at UCL is a research-led department with an international reputation, offering innovative teaching programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The department is one of only a few broad-based anthropology departments in the UK comprising five sub-sections: Evolutionary and Environmental Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Material Culture, Medical Anthropology and Public Anthropology.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Film Editing Tutor (0.4 FTE) to assist our students in becoming proficient in the use of Adobe Premiere Pro editing software, which they will utilise to edit their films. You will also help students understand that ‘film editing’ is far more than a ‘computer operation’; we want students to realise that film editing lies at the heart of successful, creative filmmaking.

The role will cover a career break for the substantive post holder from mid-September to 01 April 2026. This role will be based at our UCL East campus in Stratford.

About you

You will possess extensive and current practical experience in film editing, with an emphasis on documentary film editing in its various forms, combined with vast knowledge and experience working with Premiere Pro. Additionally, you will possess a proven ability and demonstrable expertise in teaching editing skills at both introductory and advanced levels, as well as experience in providing constructive feedback to students.
