Department
The School of Life Sciences is large and diverse academic department within the Faculty of Science and Health, engaging in research and education ranging from Biomedical Science to Marine Biology, creating a challenging and rewarding environment for both students and staff. We are looking for an ambitious individual to join our Technical Services team and to provide high-quality technical support for our diverse body of staff and students.
Duties of the Role
Working closely with colleagues to support the ongoing technical support for the teaching and learning activities of students. Providing technical support and advice to laboratory users, and responding to a variety of requests from staff and students in a timely and proactive manner.
Skills and qualifications required
Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fast paced and diverse technical setting, ideally gained in an educational environment. You will have a sound understanding and experience of Health and Safety requirements, and good organisational and time management skills. The ability to work independently, manage conflicting demands and work as part of a team are of the essence, as is the ability to plan and organise your work and manage laboratory records.

This is a part-time position, working 14.4 hours per week over 42 weeks per year.
