Mechanical Design Engineer (Fixed term)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the world-renowned Power Electronics, Machines and Control Institute (PEMC) at the University of Nottingham, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge electrification technologies for power generation, marine, aerospace, and automotive applications.
This diverse role touches almost all aspects of the development of novel machines and topologies: from defining requirements and structuring complex problems to detailed mechanical design and simulations, managing manufacturing, system integration, test design, and delivering insightful data analysis and reports. You'll play a pivotal part in collaborations with researchers at Nottingham and leading industrial partners such as GKN, Cummins, Rolls-Royce, and Siemens.
About You
You should have a Mechanical / Aerospace / Automotive / Engineering qualification to BEng (2:1 level) or equivalent. The ability to work in, and lead, a team and interact & collaborate actively and professionally with industrial partners is essential.
