Catering and Hospitality Assistant (Catering) (Part-time, term time only)
Salary on appointment will be £23,028 per annum (pro rata), equivalent to £12.21 per hour.
Catering & Hospitality Assistants play a super-important role in the UEA’s ‘The Campus Kitchen’ in providing efficient support for barista and food service throughout the day. Working in any of our 14 outlets and busy hospitality department (but mainly in Ziggy’s, supporting our weekend brunch menu), you will assist with preparation and service of food and drinks, delivered catering, keeping our outlets clean and tidy, and even assisting at a variety of functions and events.
Based on The Street at the heart of campus, Ziggy’s serves our student and staff community as part of the wider Campus Kitchen brand, providing a weekend brunch menu consisting of fresh coffee and tea, filled baguettes, loaded hashbrowns, and a selection of patisserie items throughout the day.
As a team member, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth service, upholding high food standards, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Whether behind the scenes or interacting with customers, you'll be an essential part of delivering exceptional experiences.
Is this role for me?
You will demonstrate the ability to work hard within a fast-paced environment; knowledge and experience of working busy catering outlets; demonstrate great customer service; display enthusiasm and have a willingness to support your team.
Previous experience of working in a hospitality environment with some barista training or experience is preferable but not essential. You will be required to work 2 out of 7 days, predominantly weekend shifts with the potential for change to suit business need.
This part-time (16 hours per week) role, working term time only (39 weeks per year), is available from 1 September 2025 on an indefinite basis.
What are the benefits of working for UEA?
If you meet all the essential requirements of the person specification, including a love of working in the service industry it’d be great to hear from you.
Closing date: 27 July 2025
