Main duties and responsibilities
As Pensions Officer you will support the Pensions Manager in the administration of the University’s workplace pension schemes, undertaking projects as required, acquire the knowledge to answer basic queries from University staff relating to their pension and oversee the organisation of the Pension Team email inbox, allocating incoming mail to members of the Pensions Team as appropriate.
You will be responsible for providing a high standard of customer service, dealing effectively with all allocated staff and stakeholder enquiries through multiple contact methods. Contact methods will include face-to-face, telephone, IT systems (e.g. email, SMS, Web) and other formats as appropriate. This role will involve liaising with colleagues in HR and Finance as appropriate and maintaining effective filing, storage and archiving electronic or manual systems with particular regard to quality audit requirements.
Skills and experience required
You will have appropriate proven administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation with good IT skills and the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care, including a polite, helpful and confident telephone manner. Dealing with sensitive material with strict confidentiality, being flexible and adaptable to team and workload requirements and the ability to learn new tasks in a timely manner and retain knowledge of new information received is essential for this role. You will have a can-do attitude to problem solving, be able to communicate in a variety of formats and be able to collect, process and present complex data with a willingness to undertake professional qualifications, where appropriate.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of A-levels or equivalent or proven professional work experience.
