Senior Radiographer

University of Oxford - RDM Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital

Location: Oxford
Salary: £48,235 to £57,255 per annum
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 16th July 2025
Closes: 11th August 2025
Job Ref: 180956

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented MR radiographer to take on a key role in the provision of our clinical and research magnetic resonance service in the Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR).

We require someone who will enjoy working in a friendly and exciting cutting-edge environment performing advanced, clinical and research techniques, as part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, radiographers, nurses and physicists spanning both the University of Oxford and NHS Departments.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting prototype technologies (hardware and software) and contribute to the cutting-edge scientific projects of the University of Oxford. The radiographer, whilst being an employee of the University of Oxford, will also be involved in the provision of a highly patient-oriented clinical service for the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Our clinical activity has expanded significantly in the last few years and we anticipate further expansion of both research and clinical MRI scans. Clinical scanning is currently undertaken Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1800. Evening and weekend research scanning is also undertaken on occasion. As demand for our service grows, so does the number of scanning hours; therefore, a flexible approach to weekend and evening work will be required.

You will hold a BSc degree or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography with substantial experience in MRI, preferably cardiac. You will be a registered practitioner with HCPC. It is desirable for the post holder to have experience in a research environment and to have a Society of Radiographers Certificate of IV Administration.

This post is full time (This is a Grade 8 (£48,235 - £57,255 per annum) post, but may be offered at a Grade 7 (£38,674 - £46,913 per annum) according to candidate experience, skill and level of responsibility, with training and support provided to enable progression to the Grade 8 position.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.

Only applications received before midday on Monday, 11th August 2025 can be considered. Interviews are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 19th August.

Informal visits to the unit are strongly encouraged.
