The Precision Breast Cancer Institute (PBCI) has a vacancy for a motivated Biosample Assistant.
The PBCI is a purpose-built research facility adjacent to the Cambridge Breast Unit (CBU) at Cambridge University Hospital (CUH). It is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team, including oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, data managers, coordinators and bioinformaticians involved in clinical research. An extensive collection of clinical samples has been established that are used for high impact research projects and collaborations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the PBCI biosample manager to ensure the efficient and smooth running of sample pathways for a portfolio of research studies and trials that are run from the Institute. This will include reconciliation of samples received from external sites, maintaining accurate records and collation and dispatch of samples to collaborators.
This post is an excellent opportunity for an individual to hone their experience in the area of translational sample management and logistics.
