The Role

Responsible for staff and student communications, we are seeking a Senior Communications Adviser to join our small but impactful Internal Communications Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening employee engagement and equipping our people with the knowledge they need to work effectively, through developing and delivering innovative and engaging communications.
They will also help to enhance the student journey through providing timely, impactful communications about services, events and other opportunities, seeking views and contributing to a vibrant student culture.
The Person
You will be an accomplished communications professional, a confident self-starter and persuasive communicator. You will have experience in a similar role or roles – time spent in a higher education position though welcome is not a requirement. With high-level relationship management skills, you will have the confidence to work with and advise senior leaders.
You will have strong writing skills and the ability to distil and convey complex issues to diverse audiences across a range channels. You will also be adept at coming to grips with new online platforms.
You will have experience working on campaigns, developing communications plans and evaluating the outcomes of your activity. You will be able to work on your own initiative, possess strong time management skills and be comfortable working on multiple projects running at the same time.
Directorate/Function
The Academic Services Directorate includes Research & Impact, Knowledge Exchange, Academic Registry, Quality Assurance and Enhancement, the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre and Brand, Communications and Public Affairs. This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary of £44,404 per annum.
