As a result of continued investment in Sustainable Engineering and Technology provision, we are looking to appoint a skilled and experienced Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor of Civil Engineering. We are looking for someone with expertise in soil mechanics and / or fluid mechanics, but also someone who can contribute to the delivery of teaching across a broad range of engineering and technology subjects.

Are you:

  • An academic with a bold vison to deliver inspirational leadership across a range of disciplines?
  • Passionate about teaching and learning and the success and development of our expanding portfolio?
  • Enthusiastic about interdisciplinary teaching and project-based learning?
  • An academic with experience in innovative curriculum design and development, pedagogy and high quality teaching and learning practice?
  • An academic with expertise in soil mechanics and / or fluid mechanics, together with an ability to deliver teaching across a broad range of subjects and disciplines.
  • An academic with a substantial record of impactful research or a substantial record of professional practice / knowledge exchange activities?
  • Enthusiastic about increasing and diversifying income generation through various means?
  • A member of a relevant professional body?

In this role, and depending on your grade, you will make a significant contribution to, or lead on:

  • The development of innovative interdisciplinary programmes, providing a real life educational experience for students, and producing graduates who are industry-ready
  • The validation and accreditation and prescription of our programmes
  • The management and delivery of innovative teaching and learning for our students
  • Education delivery, including programme and discipline area leadership
  • Research and Knowledge Exchange, meeting KPI for excellence in high impact RKE
  • Being part of a collegiate community of academics and professional practitioners
