About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and research-driven Reader in Evolutionary Genomics to join our Department of Biology, within the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in growing their research programme in one of the most inclusive universities in the UK. 

About You

The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to significantly contribute to the field of Evolutionary Genomics, broadly defined. Some key areas of interest are mammalian genomics, AI/ML and mathematical modelling in genomics, genome regulation and functional genomics, and metabolomics. The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of related teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Teaching responsibilities will be reduced for the first year.

The Faculty of Science and Engineering combines research excellence with a strong commitment to growth, innovation and diversity in its educational activities. Queen Mary ranks 14th in the world and 5th in the UK for the quality of research (THE World University Ranking 2024) and joint 7th in the UK according to the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF2021). 

The School of Biological & Behavioural Sciences is a large academic unit, which provides a supportive and friendly environment and encourages interdisciplinary research.
