The Department
Academic Registry directs and leads in all matters relating to the management of academic standards across the University to ensure staff and students are well advised on the implementation of regulations, quality assurance systems and procedures and the monitoring of their effectiveness.
The Conferments and Awards Team within Academic Registry undertakes the coordination and supervision of examinations, oversees the production of final award documentation, and manages the arrangements for Graduation Ceremonies.
The Role
This is a full-time role, based predominantly in our Ealing office with some off-site working at hired venues. The Conferments and Awards Officer will work with the Senior Analyst (Conferments and Awards) and the Assistant Registrar (Graduation) to support both onsite and offsite graduation ceremonies, including monitoring the graduation email inbox, updating student records pertaining to graduation, and liaising with external and internal stakeholders as appropriate. From time to time you may be required to assist the wider Conferments and Awards team with the production and dispatch of final awards transcripts and certificates, and to assist with invigilation of examinations. It would help if you were familiar with HE awarding processes, and experience of working within the higher education sector is desirable. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
The Person
Working in collaboration with Senior Analyst (Conferments and Awards) and the Assistant Registrar (Graduation) you will assist with organising graduation ceremonies both onsite and offsite at our chosen venue at an operational level. You will manage the graduation email inbox, responding in a timely and professional manner, providing accurate information. The role holder must have attention to detail and be accurate in their work, whilst maintaining confidentiality. From time to time there may be projects you can get involved in that will enhance your personal professional development.
