Our research is engaged, at the frontier of practice and has a positive impact on the world around us.
Background
City St George’s is undertaking a significant programme of work in relation to its student records systems (SRS), with an initial discovery phase to inform decisions about the future programme roadmap. This programme is one of the university’s “IT Big 6” programmes.
The university currently operates two on-premise instances of Tribal’s SITS with limited interoperability and no integration between them.
The role sits within the IT Projects team within Information Technology at the university.
An extension to the initial 12 months FTC may be considered depending on the outcome of the discovery phase and the decisions made by the university as a consequence.
Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Student Records Systems (SRS) Programme discovery phase. This will require the programme to be effectively mobilised, discovery activity to be undertaken and a full options appraisal, in the form of a business case, to be developed and submitted for approval to senior committees.
In addition, dependencies with other key projects and programmes will need to be effectively managed, such as ERP, Curriculum Management System and Data Warehousing.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be expected to have previous experience leading student records systems discovery and/or implementation programmes, preferably this will include direct experience with Tribal’s SITS.
A robust understanding of the current student records system market will also be required. The Programme Manager will need to demonstrate experience of managing IT Programmes within complex organisations, how they successfully engaged stakeholders and ensured appropriate governance controls were implemented and adhered to.
