The Role
Accountable to the Director of Education-Clinical and Head of School, based in the School of Medicine (Faculty of Medical Sciences), to manage the development, delivery, and assessment of the Digital Health strand of the MBBS curriculum. This is a flagship initiative of the MBBS programme forming a core component of our curriculum with the aim of developing doctors with the digital skills they will require for their future careers in healthcare.
The postholder will be responsible for developing the digital health strand in line with published national guidance, working with colleagues across the MBBS programme to develop a cohesive development programme.
This is an exciting time to join the MBBS Senior Team as it embarks on a refreshed programme strategy to deliver a distinctive Newcastle medical degree that prepares our graduates to meet the challenges of the future. You will be joining a welcoming cohesive team that is supportive and constantly seeking to innovate and improve. In recent years we have introduced important initiatives such as Programmatic Assessment, Longitudinal Integrated Placements, Citizenship schemes and a Patients as Partners Programme.
The post is for 1 session to recognise the substantial nature of this new role, and applications are welcome from clinicians from a variety of professional backgrounds. Clinical academic postholders must maintain a minimum of 4 clinical sessions to retain clinical credibility.
