About the role
The Senior Programmes Manager role leads the administration function for all on-campus and online taught King’s Foundations programmes. This includes the International Foundation Programme, Pre-sessional Programmes and the Academic Skills Programme and bespoke short courses and-hoc programmes. Areas of responsibility include: student enrolment, record management, Foundation programme module selection, academic planning, timetabling, quality assurance, enquiry management, student attendance and engagement, assessment, student processes, exam boards, student retention and performance data, reporting, cover, safeguarding and progression management.
The Senior Programmes Manager will lead a team of twelve, comprising four Programme Managers (direct line reports), three Senior Programmes Officers, and five Programme Officers. In addition, the post-holder line manages a Programme Manager based at the Afe Babalola Centre (ABC), who services all administration for the two ABC programmes and is embedded within the King’s Foundations Programmes team.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Senior Programmes Manager will work closely with the Heads of Programmes, Senior Tutors, the Director, Education Director and the CIEL Quality Assurance Manager to support the implementation of departmental strategy and process improvement projects. They will also play a key role in supporting strategic projects aligned with the Student Futures Programme, leading initiatives to align professional services processes across programme administration teams and in collaboration with central university departments.
The role requires a proactive approach to operational programme delivery, flexibility in responding to unexpected challenges, and excellent prioritisation skills. The successful candidate will be an experienced, enthusiastic and innovative professional with a strong background in programme administration and quality assurance in higher education. They will have a deep understanding of the student journey and a commitment to delivering a high-quality learning experience, through effective planning, communication, leadership, and team development. Experience in change management and a dedication to continuous improvement are essential.
This is a 35 hours per week, and you will be offered an indefinite contract
