Are you an experienced educator working in the fields of digital media and society? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic and ambitious School as a University Teacher.
The School of Sociological Studies, Politics and International Relations at the University of Sheffield is one of the most vibrant and successful centres for teaching and research in the UK. The School is now seeking to appoint a 0.7 FTE University Teacher to enhance our teaching capacity at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. If successful, you will be responsible for designing, delivering and assessing modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Digital Media and Society.
We would like to hear from you if you are working within the field of digital media and society, but we are especially interested in those with specialist experience in the design and delivery of courses that approach digital media in relation to core socio-political issues, such as identity, inequality, activism, and culture. We are also keen to hear from you if you work across any of the following substantive research areas: digital activism, social media cultures, digital identities, or digital methods.
You will hold a PhD in Sociology, Media Studies, Cultural Studies or a cognate discipline, or have equivalent experience.
Evidence of teaching excellence and innovations in the learning and teaching field will be essential and the applicant is expected to have experience of and enthusiasm for delivering university teaching to a high standard. The successful candidate will have access to mentoring and support as well as time for their own educational research.
