Cambridge University's Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart & Lung Research Institute (VPD-HLRI) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing and Facilities Technician to join our team at the forefront of biomedical research. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording all incoming goods, ensuring that vital laboratory and operational supplies are managed efficiently. You will assist with regular stock checks and support all services running through the Goods In department, maintaining accurate inventory records to facilitate the smooth operation of our institute.
Your responsibilities will extend beyond inventory management, as you will also support the Laboratory and Buildings team with a range of operational tasks. These include ensuring a steady supply of clean laboratory glassware, helping to move equipment as needed, setting up meeting rooms for various events, and assisting with general building maintenance. As an integral member of our Building Services Team, your contribution will help sustain a facility that delivers research with a real and meaningful impact on global health.
At VPD-HLRI, you will be joining a dynamic and collaborative team within the Department of Medicine, working alongside over 400 dedicated staff members. Our institute is committed to delivering research that addresses some of the most pressing challenges in cardiovascular and respiratory diseases worldwide. Within our impressive, sustainably designed facility¿which houses advanced laboratories, a Clinical Research Facility, office spaces, and versatile seminar and conference rooms¿you will find an environment that encourages learning and professional growth.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with experienced professionals and play a crucial role in supporting world-leading research. If you are proactive, organised, and enthusiastic about helping us maintain the highest standards in facility operations, we invite you to apply and contribute to our mission of improving global heart and lung health.
