About you 

King’s Centre for International Education and Languages a new, cross-cutting Centre designed to widen the educational reach of King’s. It brings together three existing areas: King’s Foundations, Summer Programmes, and King’s Language Centre. This brings together international pathway provision, pre sessional programmes, pre-UG summer courses, UG summer modules, UG language modules, bespoke language programmes for the community and our partners and academic skills provision for all King’s students.

Each of these areas are well established, respected and recognised within and beyond the King’s community. The Centre is focused on enabling collaboration between the three departments to further advance our work in promoting educational excellence and supporting and enhancing the student experience. The Centre has expertise in International Education and makes a significant contribution to the rich and diverse make-up of the King’s student body.

About the role

The Centre for International Education & Languages (CIEL) at King’s College London has an exciting opportunity to join a new Digital Education team as one of 3 Learning Technology Programmes Officers, based in either King’s Foundations (1 post) or King’s Language Centre (2 posts). These new posts provide the ideal opportunity to develop a career in Digital Education. 

These critical roles will support the wide cohort of students (both internal and external), our programme administration and teaching teams by ensuring that digital education systems are accurate, accessible and aligned with institutional standards. By supporting a high-quality, student-centred learning experience you will enable the central Digital Education team to focus on strategic digital enhancement and innovation. 

The Learning Technology Programmes Officers will support enrolment, attendance and assessment processes within our moodle-based virtual learning environment, KEATS.

You will be expected to collaborate with wider teams to integrate digital education tools into programme delivery, provide basic technical support and training. 

By representing the programmes team in relevant meetings and working with central teams, you will support the review of digital education processes and ensure compliance with GDPR and best practice.

This is a full-time post and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: 

Essential criteria

  • Educated to high school level or above.
  • Strong technical skills and experience providing administrative support in an education context. 
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills. 
  • Knowledge of VLEs (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and their common plug-ins (e.g. Turnitin, Gradescope). 
  • Excellent task management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders 
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards.

Desirable criteria

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in higher education contexts. 
  • Experience with enrolment and attendance processes in a VLE. 
  • Familiarity with online assessment and feedback processes.
